Coffee Crawl: Tokyo's Omotesando
10:34 PM
The Omotesando & Harajuku Area is a great spot to enjoy shopping and have a coffee crawl. Omotesando is a beautifully tree lined street that ends near the entrance of the Meiji Shrine and Takeshita Dori. Start from Aoyama Dori area then walk towards the shrine.
CAFE KITSUNE
A popular spot among tourists and locals, Cafe Kitsune is a must stop in any Tokyo Coffee Crawl. Located just steps away from Maison Kitsune, the cafe has a beautiful bamboo fenced and clean minimal aesthetics. There are plenty of seating inside and outside the cafe. I would suggest finding a spot in the beautiful garden. If you prefer a quiet spot, you can take a seat inside. On busy days, you’ll find a lot of patrons taking photos especially in the garden and the signage.
Cafe Kistune has amazing coffee. You can also enjoy one of their baguettes or have a fox cookie with your cup. Kitsune means fox in French.
While waiting for your coffee, check out their very tempting merchandise. They have totes, mugs, tumblers, pens, etc.
If you want to add Blue Bottle to your crawl list then you can visit one of their branches just a short walk from Cafe Kitsune.

KOFFEE MAMEYA
For serious coffee drinkers, walk a few of blocks from Omotesando to Kaffee Mameya. A subtle entrance, you can easily miss this spot. it’s a little tucked away from the rows of shops and has no signage from the outside. Opened by the same man as Omotesando Koffee, Kaffe Mameya has coffee experts that can help you decide which one from the wide variety of beans they offer. They have a chart of the coffee available. Sourced and roasted from different countries, you have a choice from a wide spectrum to pick from. They’ll patiently guide you and explain their menu which I highly appreciated. They speak english well so you won’t have a problem understanding them. Should you arrive with customers already in the counter, stand in the back to wait your turn. Personalized service is provided by the experts so they serve 1 customer at a time.
Don’t expect espresso based beverages as they focus on the brewing. If you want some latte or espresso based beverages, you can visit their sister shop Toranomon Koffee Watch as they carefully brew your chosen coffee by slow drip.
There are no seats inside. You can order a brewed coffee to go and buy coffee beans for home.
A very simple coffee spot, there is only a counter inside the store.
Another definite spot for coffee crawls in Tokyo.
