Here are some useful links and information in planning and maximizing your Osaka Visit.

TOURIST INFORMATION CENTERS: You can buy some travel passes, get brochures, and get tourist assistance. Their Namba branches have money changers and even kimino rental available.

TRAVEL PASSES:

There are many travel passes for tourists you can avail to make your trip more economical in Japan. For Osaka, there are many to choose from among them are the Osaka Amazing Pass and Kansai thru pass.

I would suggest determining your itinerary first then see which of the passes available best suits your needs. Then you can adjust your itinerary to maximize your trip to Osaka.

Osaka Amazing Pass :  (1 day- Y2300 /2 day – Y3000) : Unlimited travel on trains, buses and tram (Excluding JR trains) Includes free entrances and discounted tickets.

The Osaka Amazing Pass is an economical pass if you want to maximize the day touring the city. This pass includes free entrance to Umeda Sky Building, Osaka Castle, Tsutentaku Tower, among others. It also has discounts to other city attractions.

Kansai Thru Pass (2 day – Y4000/3 day – Y5200) : covers Osaka municipal, Hankyu, Hanshin trains in the Kansai region including Kobe and Kyoto subways complete list of included are on their website. This pass excludes JR Trains and buses.

Osaka Visitor Pass (Unlimited on Osaka City Subway) : 1 day pass Y550

Osaka Kaiyu Ticket –  a day’s unlimited pass on Osaka Subway and discounted ticket to the Osaka Kaiyu (Osaka Aquarium)

JR West Passes (valid on JR Trains only) Apart from the Japan Rail Pass, JR also has many passes available in the different areas like in JR West (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, etc), JR East (Tokyo etc), JR Central (Hokkaido)

ICOCA & HARUKA – discounted HARUKA train ticket (airport express to Kansai Airport –one way or roundtrip) with purchase of ICOCA card.
