Japan

I’d have to admit that initially Japan was not near the top of my travel
bucket list. But after visiting it for
the first time earlier this year, I fell in love with it. I love how organized and efficient it is in
Japan. You can see how much thought was given from the design of product
packaging to the size of the walkway. The people are courteous and considerate.
Even in busy area like Shibuya in Tokyo, you can appreciate the quiet. People
on public places like the train stations or train cars are quiet. You’ll rarely
hear cars honking or music blaring in the streets from stores.
Japan is an amazing country with an incredible atmosphere of the new and
the old. There is a beautiful contrast of the past and future existing in the
same area. Imperial palaces and Shinto shrines surrounded by modern buildings.
Peak of travel is during Spring when “Sakura” or cherry blossoms are in full bloom. They are usually at its peak during the later part of March and early April. Flights and rates are usually high so if you want to go during this period, I suggest booking early to avail of discounts.
Another great time to visit too is Autumn, when leaves have turned. The
Japanese have a leaf viewing tradition called “Koyo”.
See my other entries for more information on my favourite apps, stores, and sights in Japan.
Arigato!
