Spending the day at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park & Marine World Uminonakamichi

Another place to see fields of flowers and enjoy the outdoors is the Uminonakamichi Seaside Park. 

The park is just beside the Uminonakamichi Station. You can spend the day at the Seaside Park or like us spent the morning at the park and enjoyed the aquarium in the afternoon. 


On our visit in the fall, the kochia bushes were only a few left but the cosmos were in full bloom.










 There were also beautiful roses and other fall blooms. 













There are many actives you can do in the park. A great way to explore is by bike. You can rent them right beside the entrance. There are different kinds including tandem bikes. It comes with a key so you can lock your bike when you park it and explore. 




Ride your bike on the bike paths. 





There is also a mini zoo you can visit inside the park.

Hours of Operation:  9:30-5:30 

Entrance Fee: ¥450 Adults (15 and above) ¥210 Senior (65 and older) ; free children under 14

Bike Rental 3 hrs ¥500 (Adult) ¥300 (children) ; Extension for every 30 mins ¥100/30 mins Adult; ¥50/30mins Child Day ¥700 (adult) ¥400 (child) 



A few blocks walk from Uminonakamichi Seaside Park or the train station, you can visit the Marine World Uminonakamichi. 






The aquarium is focused on Kyushu Aquatic. 














 Once you enter, take some time to explore the collection of fish and shark bones on the right side. There are skeletons of actual fish they found in Kyushu. 














There is also a large tank with a variety of marine life. 









There is also a seal and dolphin show.











Like other sights in Japan, there are also stamps you can collect.
