Coffee Crawl: Tokyo
5:09 PM
There are plenty other coffee spots to explore in Tokyo. Here's a compiled list of my last coffee crawl for four other areas in the city. There is usually just one to two spots in the area I visit but they're worth the train ride to get there. If you want to do a coffee crawl in one general area like SHIBUYA, SHINJUKU, or HARAJUKU & OMOTESANDO, you can check my blog entries on the specific location.
1. NAKAMEGURO:
ONIBUS COFFEE
Onibus Coffee is in my top 3 places for coffee in Tokyo. A little out of the way the trip was worth it. Considered as one of the top Tokyo coffee they also have another branch in Okusawa and are the same owners of About Life Coffee Roasters and Ration Coffee & Cycle. I would suggest venturing out to this shop though. A short walk from Nakameguro Station, the store is beautiful with it’s handmade tiles and mural. Take note too of their beautiful ceramic glass ware. They roast coffee in house. On my visit, I enjoyed my coffee while watching them roast a new batch of beans. Onibus has some seating on the ground floor where the roaster are located. They have a second floor where you can watch the trains go by. If you need burlap sacks, they have a pile you can take for free in front of the store.
From the Nara Meguro Station, take East Exit 2. You’ll see an Aoyama Flower Market as you get out of the paid area., turn left towards the exit. Turn right at the exit, walking on the side of the Nakameguro Gate town. When you reach the road, turn left and turn right on the next corner. You should see Onibus Coffee on your right in a few minutes.

Listed as one of the must visit spots in Tokyo in "Where to Drink Coffee", Switch Coffee is a 20 minute walk from Onibus Coffee in Nakameguro.
After our stop in Onibus, we walked around 1.6 km to check it out. Located in a residential area, it's a short walk from the Meguro Citizen Park and Meguro Museum of Art.
Although a bit of a walk, you can choose the route right beside Meguro river. If you visit in spring, there are blocks of sakura trees in bloom. When you see the Meguro Citizen Park cross the bridge and it is just a block away.
They've got a good selection of coffee which they've source and roasted. There is limited seating with just a standing bar and a small bench in the outside. It was worth the walk to Switch Coffee.

2. DAIKANYAMA:
SATURDAYS NYC
The coffee bar at Saturdays NYC in Daikanyama is a great stop while exploring the trendy area. You can enjoy your daily cortado on their wooden deck patio in the back where you have a nice view of the city. It’s a few blocks walk from the Daikanyama Station. They also have stores in Osaka and Kobe.

3. TORANOMON
Toranomon Koffee
If you’re in the Toranomon area, a must stop to have some good latte is Toranomon Koffee. By the same company as Omotesando Koffee it’s a must stop for coffee lovers. Located in the Toranomon Hills Mori Tower, it’s a few blocks walk from the station. There are plenty of seating and minimal food options.

4. YOYOGI-KOEN :
LITTLE NAP COFFEE STAND
One of my favorite coffee places in Tokyo, Little Nap Coffee Stand is a destination on its own. Just a few blocks from exit 3 of Yoyogi Hachiman station.
I loved their coffee. It’s one of my must visits in Tokyo. Just a small coffee spot, there are just a few seats. They have another branch a few more blocks away.
They also have a few pastries and gelato options.
To get to Little Nap Coffee Stand : From exit # 3 of Yoyogi Hachiman station, when u get out to the street walk to the left towards the slide. On the next corner after park, take a left then turn right on first small street. walk about 2 blocks more and cross the street ( on the corner ). If you’ll be coming from Fuglen Coffee head back towards the train station and go straight.

FUGLEN COFFEE
Fuglen Coffee is a Norweigan Brand that sells vintage pieces and coffee. The have beautiful interiors and have furniture items for sale. They have a more extensive menu compared to other coffee spots. They also have benches outside if you want to enjoy your coffee al fresco. They also serve cocktails after 7PM.
From Yoyogi Koen Exit, turn right when you reach street level and walk a few blocks on the main road. Turn right after the Aussie Cafe. It should be on the left of the smaller street
