ARC DE TRIOMF 

In 1888, the Arc de Trimof was built for the Exposicion Universal de Barcelona as the gateway for the fair held in Parc de la Ciutadella. It is one of the iconic images of the city of Barcelona. Built with red bricks in the Neo-Mudejar Style, it is a 30 meters tall and embellished with stone carvings of the coat of arms, two roaring lions, and statues of women. 

Easily accessible by train or hop on, hop off bus, the Arc de Triomf is close to Parc Ciutadella and the Barcelona Zoo.

Museu Nacional D’Art De Catalunya (MNAC) 

The Museu Nacional D’Art De Catalunya (MNAC) is housed in the Neo-Baroque Palau National which was constructed for the royal inauguration of the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929 and houses one of the best collection of romanesque mural paintings. It has one thousand years of art in Barcelona and houses more than 250,000 works of art from the 12th to 20th century. It also has Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance art work. The MNAC was founded when 2 museums the Museu d’Art de Catalunya and Museu d’art Modern merged thus making it the largest and most important museum in Barcelona 

Located on the outskirts of Barcelona on Parc de Montjuic, the steps in front of the MNAC also has an amazing view of Barcelona.

ENTRANCE FEE: 12 € ; on saturdays after 3PM - free. 
HOW TO GET HERE:  The easiest way to get here is to ride one of the hop on hop off buses. Both companies that tours Barcelona makes a brief stop right beside the museum. If taking public transportation, from Pl. Espanya, take Bus 55 to bus stop: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya/Museu Etnologic . this bus takes you closest but you can also take bus 15-, 13, or 37
