Nishiki Market is a 400 year old covered
market and one of Japan’s iconic markets (Open until 6 PM) it’s a great place
to sample Japanese delicacies like Matcha, tako tamago (octopus with a quail
egg in the head ) , fresh seafood, pickled vegetables, fresh fruits &
vegetables).

Don’t forget stop by and taste the sample of roasted chestnuts which are in season in autumn.
One end of the market is near Daimaru. At the
other end of Nishiki Market is a small temple Nishiki Tenmangu.
