KINKAKU-JI (Golden Pavilion)
Rokuon-ji (formal name) of this
UNESCO World Heritage is popular to tourist as the Golden Pavilion. This
3-storey exact replica of the original is gilded in gold leaf. On top of the
pavilion is a bronze phoenix, The Zen Buddhist temple has an ornamental pond
that reflects the golden pavilion and a strolling garden.
