An afternoon spent in Ohori Park

12:08 PM

This large green space in Fukuoka. There is a large pond which was once part of the moat system of Fukuoka Castle.

An official place of scenic beauty, it’s a nice place to take a walk, run or bike. There are designated lanes for each. You can cross the large pond via the bridge and small inlets.

You can enjoy the afternoon, strolling around the pond, taking out a row or swan boat, or having a cup of coffee  while watching birds or the fish residents of the pond.

There are spots too for fishing and benches by the water to sit back and enjoy the day.

On the outside steps of the museum you can find several artworks such as the pumpkin by renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
