Rainbow Bagel in Brooklyn

5:26 AM

Although it was a bit off the way, we took the train down to Williamsburg in Brooklyn to visit The Bagel Store -the original creators of the Rainbow Bagel for breakfast on my last visit to New York. It’s close to the subway exit and we were lucky that there was barely a line when we got there.

The Bagel Store is a small store with a lot of bagels to choose from. Apart from the usual sesame, plain, onion, or poppy bagels they also had special ones like the French toast bagel and “Cragel” - a bagel and croissant combination. Popular of course is their Rainbow Bagel and other colorful options they have on display. On my visit there was the Unicorn Bagel, Galaxy Bagel, Spiderman Bagel, Froot Loops Bagel, Bedazzled Bagel and Cotton and Candy Bagel. You can choose what you want on it. I got their famous Rainbow Bagel with cream cheese instead of the popular Funfettti Cream Cheese. You can also find their menu on their website. The types of colourful bagels vary and  You order first at the back of the store then pick up and pay at the counter. If you want to purchase bottled beverages, just get one from the chillers on the side and pay at the counter when you pick up your order. There are about 6 chairs in case you want to enjoy your bagel inside the store.
