FRIENDSHIP IN PEANUTS at the SNOOPY MUSEUM

6:39 PM

If you love any of the Peanuts Characters, a trip to the Snoopy Museum in Tokyo is a must. In the current and last exhibition of Charles M. Schulz’s work in Tokyo, characters are presented in the perspective of the different friendships of the Peanuts world entitled “FRIENDSHIP IN PEANUTS”. This exhibit will run until the museum’s closing on the 24th of September this year. You have 100 days left to visit.

See the history of Peanuts and the evolution of the comic strip and it’s characters. There are of original drawings and numerous merchandise of the Peanut’s world. You can discover the long history of the comic strip and the layers of friendships in this world. See the friendships of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, and the other characters. It explains how they became friends and what makes their relationships unique. Meet Snoopy’s siblings too and their unique characters. The comic strips and captions are in English but there are also Japanese translations.

Don’t forget to stop and take a photo of the “3D Peanuts” - mosaic wall of  4,452 comic strips as you enter the main exhibit. There are also various art works by different designers using the characters’ images.

I would suggest buying tickets ahead of time as they have a designated lane for it and will expedite your entry. You exchange your advance ticket or voucher for the museum ticket is a comic stripe.

Try visiting early in the day as there is usually a long line in the afternoon. It will take you some time to see the exhibit as most visitors take the time to read each caption or comic strip.

You’ll need to present your museum ticket to enter Brown’s store and Cafe Blanket. You can find loads of merchandise in the Brown’s store from totes, keychains, pens, stuffed toys, etc.

There is usually a line to eat at Cafe Blanket. Their serving size is quite large for one so we opted to have milkshakes and get snacks at the food truck outside.

There is also a Peanuts Food Truck on the outside grounds of the museum.

To get to the museum, it’s a short walk from EXIT 3,  turn right after 2nd corner of the main road, then just go straight to the museum about 600m.
