Picturesque Venice
7:34 PMThe City of Canals, a visit to Venezia or Venice is a must. A UNESCO World Heritage sites it is popular to tourists. Such a picturesque city, the time we spent was limited and it's somewhere I'd love to visit and spend more time exploring in the future.
You explore the city by walking the narrow streets or taking a vaporetti or water bus. It is also a port of call too for cruise ships and there can be several ships docked for the day.
Known for its canals and bridges, the Rialto on the Grand Canal is one of the most iconic one.
Located at the Piazza San Marco, it is dedicated to the Patron saint of Venice St. Mark. The Italo- Byzantine architecture
The Basilica di San Marco is also known as the Chiesa d'Oro or Church of Gold. Unlike a lot of Italian churches with frescoes, the basilica has jaw dropping gold mosaics.
To take photos within the church, you need to purchase a pass and they will give you a bracelet to wear to let them know you’ve paid.
